About

This is an extremely unique opportunity to not only share your work, but your collective support of Black Art and Black Creatives of all mediums. “I am a Black Artist” seeks to galvanize 10,000 Black Creatives. Artists who are currently practicing in works that feature and highlight Our Culture are encouraged to apply. As this is a family-friendly showcase, we ask that there be no derogatory language, nudity or suggestive images to be sure that children are also able to engage and witness your work and our efforts.

Mission:

Highlight 10,000 Black Artists in a movement in which we stand in solidarity in our creative expressions. Artists of all mediums are invited to apply for a chance to be featured in a mini art Docuseries. The culmination of this series will feature short “spots” for each accepted Black Artist to: 1) State their name or artist name and 2) Proudly state the phrase “I am a Black Artist”.

Vision:

If you have not read Ms. Maya Angelou's Our Grandmothers poem, it is highly suggested due to her powerful words: "I come along, but I stand as ten thousand."  Once launched we will ALL be featured on an extremely prestigious platform and site more so demanding representation, equality and respect amongst our community of creatives. Imagine 10,000 BLACK ARTISTS using their voice and artwork in such a strategic and effective way that the world will take notice.
